Due to numerous requests from USA, the Academy has produced this unique package for people who are unable to travel to Canberra to attend the Tai Chi Bang Workshop.  The package includes a Tai Chi Bang (Stick), an instructional DVD and notes.  The cylinder shape wooden Tai Chi Bang is hand made.  The duration of the DVD is 65 minutes.  It consists of two main sequences: one teaches you how to train with the Bang and the other is a practice sequence.

 

What is the Hun Yuan Tai Chi System?

The Hun Yuan system has come from a living legend, Grandmaster Feng Zhi Qiang (1928- ), one of China’s great Tai Chi masters.  Many martial artists have challenged him but he is still undefeated.  The Hun Yuan method is a complete training system which teaches the internal and external aspects of Tai Chi.  “Hun” means mixed and “Yuan” means circle.  Hun Yuan refers to the movement of the universe or the Tao which is the force behind all phenomena. 

 

Why is the Bang (Stick) Training so Rare Nowadays?

The Tai Chi Bang (Stick), which is a component of the Hun Yuan Tai Chi system, is a unique method of training the joints and tendons.  Originally, this training method was passed on to only a select few.  This practice is rare nowadays.  It is not widely known, even though it is a fast and efficient method for developing stronger and more flexible muscles and joints.

 
You may choose to do 9 or 18 repetitions in your practice.  9 repetitions will take only 12 mins.  You will be surprised how much the exercises work on your whole body.  You will see results in the first week of your training!

 

What are the Benefits from this Unique Training?

  1. The Tai Chi Bang helps to prevent overuse injuries as it strengthens the wrists, tendons and muscles.

  2. It develops hand, wrist and arm strength.  If you notice that you are losing hand and arm strength in performing daily tasks, such as, turning the tap, opening jars and bottles, you will find a significant improvement after practising the Bang.

  3. It teaches you to feel and integrate the back with arm movements.  You will experience this immediately with the first set of movements.

On the DVD, Fontane shows the common errors to avoid (as seen in the first 2 snapshots on top) and the correct method (the subsequent 2 snapshots on the bottom) of the first movement of the fourth set.
