The Hun Yuan system has been developed by Grandmaster Feng Zhi Qiang (1928-2012), one of China’s great Tai Chi masters.  Grandmaster Feng is considered a living legend.  The Hun Yuan method is a complete training system of many levels, teaching the internal and external components of Tai Chi.

What are the aims of the
Hun Yuan 24 Form?

The Hun Yuan 24 form is called the entrance form.  It takes students to the door.  It is designed to relax and open the joints of the body and develop internal energy.  There are eight major forces or energies in Tai Chi.  The movements of the Hun Yuan 24 form mainly express the first four forces: pung (ward off), lu (roll back), ji (press) and an (push).

 

What can I Learn Once I am Familiar with the Hun Yuan 24 Form?

The next form is called the Hun Yuan 32 Cannon Fist.  It introduces students to the second four major forces: tsia (uproot), li (split), jou (elbow) and khor (shoulder/upperback).  It also teaches students the stepping required in applying Tai Chi as a martial art.  One of the characteristics of Cannon Fist is fa jin (issuing short explosive force) which is a combination of relaxation, coordination and internal energy. 

Practising the 32 Cannon Fist builds stamina and further develops internal force.  This is a more expressive form and is fun to do! 

Special Qigong set which complements the Cannon Fist form is also included.

The more you experience and understand the Hun Yuan system, the more you see its depth and reap the benefits from the training.  Each part of the system reveals another aspect of the full picture of the art of Tai Chi.  The system shows us that we can continuously grow and develop.
