Taoist Qigong DVD and
Booklet - Fei Wang
AUD$45.00
To help you build and
experience the internal energy
(qi),
traditional Chinese medical practitioner and Qigong expert, Fei
Wang, will introduce you to
the Taoist Qigong set. It is the foundation for the Taiyiwuxing Quan, made
famous by Pu Huan, the last emperor's half-brother.
Pu Huan revealed
this ancient internal art to the general public in 1980. He learnt it from
a Taoist master in the famous Wudang Mountains and continued to train for
more than 50 years.
The Taoist Qigong
emphasises the use of the mind instead of physical strength, aims at fending
off an attack rather than direct confrontation, and strives to achieve the
integration of mind and breath and the harmony of motion and rest. The
movements are smooth and slow with the constant turning of the waist. The
hands move as if holding a ball. The legs move like a snake slithering
through the grass. The force generated by this form of boxing is like that
of a silk worm making its cocoon, enabling the practitioner to subdue an
opponent. This is possible because the movements of the Taiyiwuxing Quan
have the qualities of running water and scudding clouds, making them fluid
and unpredictable.
The Q
igong
set for the Taiyiwuxing Quan consists of 12 movements which are a
combination of Taoist breathing, meditation and martial techniques. By
learning and practising these movements, you will begin to feel the
connection of mind, body and qi. You can expect to develop suppleness,
relaxation, concentration, fluidity and inner strength by practising this
set.
On the DVD, Fei demonstrates the
12 movements with music. Instructions are given separately in the
booklet (43 pages).
